One headlight? Fix it whatever the cost. Driver responsible. Simple as.

Seriously though, there's no reason why in future designs, the CEM should be coded such that failure of a headlamp bulb would put the car into 'limp home' mode till it's changed, after all, my present and previous car both give incar warnings of bulb failure.

Couple this with making any future new car design where such an important commonly failing safety related part cannot be changed in 2 - 3 mins by anyone with even a little mechanical knowledge to be internationally unacceptable and illegal. End the nonsense of having to drop bumpers, remove air filter casings etc just to change a bulb.
