Saw John & Ste in convoy in the queue (John - is yours burning a little oil?), Greg (I assume) sporting some wiiiiiide steels, Antz, someone with a DIY flat front conversion etc etc.
There was a few, of which most were on my stand. I remember seeing the following 240s (probably missed some)

standard blue saloon
white estate
silver saloon
blue estate
brown estate
white estate with arches
gregs 240 with banded steels
white estate on Ferrari wheels
red torslanda on virgos
ste's estate
johns estate
my estate
silver estate
white saloon on galaxies
red saloon with a white door

There was a few more booked on my stand but they didn't bother to turn up which is a shame.

^^That was me. I would have joined the stand (inviting myself!) except I usually join/camp with some RR friends.

The white with the arches had round lights and a flat front grille, but the later bonnet, which if being picky needed changing.

The Ferrari rimmed number is a Stanceworks one I believe, big fan of those wheels.

However, an excellent variation of 240s, ratty to mint, standard to heavily modified. 940s were even more popular!!

My Torslanda has been in daily use since purchase in 2004 until May 2015 being replaced by a Rover 75. It's done 220k on original, and so far as I know, untouched engine. Not sure whether to keep as a spare car or pass on, but certainly will not scrap or go for banger racing. I need to change the driver's door as a result of paint lifting and renew roll bar rubbers. Then service and Mot.

It's the third one I've had over 18 years, and still have a 240 GL (I think) estate parked up intended as a source of spares, but still complete bar the front calipers. Bonnet rotted but otherwise still good (I fitted new outer sills properly some years back).

Returning to the thread, certainly not many aroung the Leeds area, though still used by some traders as witnessed at Beaulieu autojumble last week.

I'd say keep it as getting more rare
I have a 1989 240GLT automatic estate bought in early 2010 for £350.00. It had 159,000 miles then and now has 215,000 miles and used as my sole car and now racking up the miles as using it for my self employment business.
I have only seen a few in years.

James

The white one with black arches/round lamps is owned by Lee Curtis. It's getting a rotary engine in it soon.
