I'm perfectly happy to have my phone and laptop made there, but my car is a big no no. Especially if it's supposed to be an eco-friendly forest hugging premium car which Volvo is, and what's green about building and shipping cars from China? Bad move, Volvo.
When Triumph moved production of the Bonneville to Thailand it fell off my list of toys to road test.

Have you ever driven a vehicle built in Thailand? I have and their build quality is good, same goes for motorcycles built in Thailand.

Intending on keeping my C30 until I retire.... My next vehicle purchase will most probably be a Ford Ranger in Thailand.

We love our C70 too but we didn't like styling of the later one, found it a bit too generic, which is why we bought the older style model. But saying that, we'll probably get another C70, same as you, on a 12, 62 or 13 plate, but this time a T5 manual as we don't do a lot of long journeys in our current one & having to do a pointless motorway journey once a month to regenerate the DPF seems ridiculous to me.

I never felt the V50 was a 'big' car.
Leg room in the back wasn't great for adults (not tight, but expected more).
Boot space was OK, but the retractable parcel shelf got in the way and took away alot of the height, and was a pain to store if removed.
And the boot lid never opened high enough, so I got plenty of lumps on my head and i'm only 5' 11"!!
My replacement is going to be a Focus ST when the factory decide on a build date (it moves around more than a Conga at a wedding).

The new Focus ST in Stealth Grey looks pretty darned sweet. I'm still not convinced by Ford interiors though. They still put 4-spoke steering wheels on almost everything and they're just "Grandad" to me.

I've ordered mine in Black with the Style Kit.
Full leather Recaro's and 3 spoke leather steering wheel with Sync 3 (integrated Apple Car play and Android Auto) should help me feel less Granddad than my V50 did

I'm sure it'll be nice but the interior just looks awful compared with the clean lines of the V50's

I test drove a Focus before I bought my V50 and just felt that although a much newer design, it was poorly thought out.

I'm surprised you think that, but we all have different tastes.
I never disliked the Volvo interior, but never felt it was a great design. Lots of wasted space everywhere with poor storage areas.

Probably a V60 (T6 or, god willing, the full blown Polestar) although the need for a bigger boot may push me up to a V70 / XC70. Either way, I will very much miss my V50 and its warbly five pot. Brilliant car.

By fortune, I had a 2016 V60 R design as a hire car today. Apart from being a bit underpowered (D3) I'm mighty impressed. Very nice to drive and more space than I expected.
