that was exactly what i had in mind sir.....although in not sure i would not put some sort of gauze or something similar over the end to stop leaves, rodents and other assorted crap getting in there...
apparently, or so ive read somewhere it is unlikely that rain would be able to penetrate into the airbox due to the distance vertially it would have to travel...i did however read this on the internet so its probably boll@x....lol.....puddles as you say are a different kettle of fish.....
cheers

I think the 'hydrolocking of engines' due to a low intake scoop is a bit OTT.

If a puddle is that big that it covers a good proportion of the car - I wouldn't drive through it anyhow !

I believe that you have the best 'stock' option. I'd love to back this up but without moving the bl**dy battery there is no space to put in my second feed.

I also agree with the gauze of some description over the fog light feed. I followed a tractor the other day that had been cutting straw and even with my feed behind the brake grill, my box was still full of straw, well enough to warrent me cleaning it out anyway!

it has a piece of gauze over the airbox end (well a pair of the better halves tights) to stop stuff like that.
