The seller kept pushing me for a deposit, we had agreed £500 on it,but that was only subject to me viewing it,he said he would end it on ebay,I told him to leave it as it still had 3 days to go,now i know why he wanted a deposit.I know it was a complete nightmare, but now i am glad i did view it first,I'm just glad that he took my advice and took it off ebay as i wouldn't of liked some poor bugger to get ripped off.

I also bought a dog of a 240GLT saloon for £495 on a buy it now and won an ebay auction for a £10,000 Honda Civic Type R in London. Guy wanted to meet me anywhere but his home. Car had no history of a service and mixed cheapo tyres at 16,000 miles ?? Walked away from that naturally but customers should have protection from such misrepresentation. Like £150 for 7 hours there and back inc petrol ?

I would feel the same. Perhaps an idea (for the future) might be to suggest to the seller he/she bring the car to you, or an alternative is they agree to refund your travel costs if the car is not as described - if they don't like either suggestion...therein is the answer. I've not sold many cars (or motorcycles) privately, but when I have it's always gone to the first to view - example; when I sold your 744GL to Billy. I wouldn't use the word tidy to describe a car! Mind you there are quite a few twerps (I'm not known for swearing!) among car buyers. Jon. |

According to DVLA last MOT expired 25 November 2012 and tax (by which I guess they mean SORN) 23 July 2014. That means it's three years since it last passed an MOT and it's been sitting around for a while too.
