I've just changed the brakes on my s40 and I cant seem to load gz08s pictures to see if I have fitted the springs correctly, can everyone else view them?

thanks Stephen for the pic. My S40 is a 2009 and the calipers are different to yours. There is a recess ( cut out) on the caliper tabs which takes the anti rattle spring closer to the disc , I guess it must of been an improvement made by Volvo.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for posting this. I totally did the same thing. First time using the Motive Power Bleeder and I figured I somehow had created a huge air embolism somewhere in the system. Had way less then 50% braking power (to the point of being very unsafe) until this morning when I corrected the clips. Now its never been better. I am actually really shocked that so much of the cars ability to stop depends on 4 little wire clips. I had no idea! Thanks again, you have saved me so much time and frustration!

Hi I have the same issues where it takes a double pump for the brakes to be 100 precent. The clip is on the outside so again do I have to put the length of the clip on the inside of the lugs as it where of the calliper?
Ta Dan as I've seen cars with springs both ways and wondered if some are OK on the outside along the length of the pad? Thanks |
