Tell her that you are being offered rediculous money for it, as nobody wants the big engined cars anymore - I will up the offer from tt28 to £105.00!
Honestly, you would loose on a trade in and have to shell out more cash for the new car, which could have been spent on your fuel. Keep the T4, you know it makes sense! Tidy motor, by the way, mate!!! Gary

To give you an idea I sold my 2002 v40 T4 manual at the start of the month for £1900, it was 70k Good service history, lots of work just done to it (discs&pads, Braided lines, cambelt&tensioners) was very good condition, 17" alloys, 10 sony multi changer, all the options including factory HId's, I think I did well to get the £1900 as prices on ebay are £1000-£1400 but then mine was a nice example and had a nice private plate, and to be honest the lad that pick it up was pretty chuffed with the car he got for £1900,
But as others have said you just spent a lot on it and it won't need much maintenance for a while, and you'll always have some cash to spend on a new car, and to be honest there's not many better/safe/reliable cars out there for the sort of cash you get for yours, I was really in 2 minds about selling it as I loved the T4, I've got an S40 T5 now and I miss the surge of the surge of the t4 but its nicer to have a newer car and the new shape s40's have some nice features, but I'm lucky I do 60 miles a week commute so I'm not that bothered about MPG although some how the 2.5 T5 seems to be getting better mpg than the T4?... |

That is true I know I'll never get back the money and its a safe motor.
I cant see a lot of auto's for sale though, how ever I'll probably keep it for a while and suffer the Boss(Mrs) that is. Then trade in and get a V50 D5 auto they look really nice with all the extras. Or the 330d bmw tourer but I love volvo, grew up in sweden |
