Now whilst I appreciate this is a Volvo appreciation thread. And whilst there is no doubting Volvo's are great cars, lets not get carried away.

Why not...
My first Volvo was a V40 1.9 Dci. I sold it around 195.000 miles in the clock to my brother and she is still keep going... I bought a C70 2.4T GT after that as she is the beautiest and most confy for the money I could invest in that time. I spent a lot on her, because of the previous owner, but I am quite sure my next car will be a Volvo as well.
Great fuel consumption (around 30 mpg), reliable, safe and full extra... |

Just as good as (although not RWD) more expensive German Toss.
Being 28, I like driving something classier than most people of my age would choose. (maybe I'll do it all in reverse and get a Focus RS500 when I retire!) |

I don,t think anybody is getting carried away. I started this topic out of general interest as I have driven most cars in my time but always return to Volvo. I was asked on another forum why I was so keen on Volvo's I did my best to answer a very simple question that we can all relate to. This is not a Volvo appreciation thread. I would have used Kylie Minogue as an appreciation thread, much better. I was asked on this forum why I changed from Jaguar back to Volvo, very simple reason, cost and low second hand values of Jaguars. When you say there are better drives out there than Volvo,s. When I sold the Jag I tried them all. Range Rovers, VW Touregs. Volvo XC90 & XC70. BMW X3 & X5's each time I came back to a Volvo. When I spotted a low mileage one in Sheffield 28k 2 owners V70 SE T5 2005 £10k I purchased it over the internet from Harratts who have supplied me with 3 Volvo's in the past all good ones. So there you go.

It was advertised at £250 but the paint was knackered and the engine was leaking oil due to a blocked flame trap.I nearly walked away when the guy said £100
