It has been suggested that a suitably fexible, thin armed contorsionist can get thier hand up the back and remove the holder, however replacement is said to be trickier...
However being a fat bastard i have never considered this to be an option... Funnily enough, i expect the bulb is fed from a source from the ECM..Fit a timer relay and this will cut the light... Better Still: Charlotte, just get your ECU repaired.... Jod

Access would be easy if it wasn't for a thin metal brace right behind and below the bulb holders. My ABS and TRACS bulbs have been removed, so my intention was to take one of the other bulbs out to replace the missing ones and see what happened. Whilst I could just reach a bulb with the tips of my fingers to remove it, putting it back in was an entirely different matter. I decided to give it up as a bad job and I'll remove the dash top next time. Bear in mind I'm a mechanic turned bodyman/painter, so I'm used to doing tricky jobs like this, but it simply isn't worth the hassle in my opinion

Just replaced a bulb on my 850 today. There's no need to completely remove the dash as the instrument pod can be removed with just the right hand side of the dash 'levered up'. Bulbs are tricky to change otherwise has they have to be inserted correctly and then given a turn to locate properly.
