just found a site doing Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD 3's for £96 fitted. any good?

Yes, very, better than the T1-R IMO especially in the wet and I've run both.

Just make sure they are approved for sale in the EU, there were a lot of grey imports of them from the far east at one point which was a big problem as the compound and construction was different to the EU-spec tyres. There may still be some knocking around.

forget the Goodyears, ive just read some bad reviews, and the Toyo's as well. apparently the Toyo's have soft sidewalls. also i cant find the Goodyears in my size, on the official site, anyway. so what about the Ultrac Sessanto or Sportrac?

Sportrac are very good.

Toyos grip exceptionally well - but wear is obviously higher because they are soft tyres.

Cup tyres = Toyo R888, Yoko A048, Dunlop Direzza, Pirelli Corsa - they tend to be a combination of soft race compound and limited wet tread. They are the quickest and easiest way of dialing out understeer

Just a thought, the softer the tyre the less likely the rubber is to crack????

Anyhow the toyo's on the rear of my 850 r have been on 18 months according to the last owners bill date,the sidewalls are still smooth and shiny

sounds promising. the 18month old Federal's have already got some hair line cracks on the side wall and some wider cracks in the tread. i think the original set i had fitted 5 years ago faired better. is it worth covering tyres that are exposed to the elements 365 days a year?

might go for the Toyo's, as there £10 a tyre cheaper, and i cant find much difference between them and the Vredstein Ultrac's. if no one has any better ideas, or thinks i should spend the extra £20, tell me now. also has anyone got any voucher codes for Blackcircles?

p.s. i cant get the ultrac sessanta's or sportrac in my size
