Just push in the two flat vertical buttons and they will pop out giving you handles to pull. Nothing should happen unless you pull the power (Probably-most likely wont hurt!).

JVC with USB and bluetooth (you can see the bluetooth remote above the stereo and to the right).

Very happy with it considering it was super-cheap!

No it won't, just push the 2 releases either side of the radio and use them to pull the radio out. Little bit of wiggling and it should release easy.

I hope so matt keeping fingers crossed for you, and why have some 40's got that little vent in the heater control panel like in Adams picture is it just aesthetics or does it serve a purpose.i saw some on ebay like it and did wonder.something I need to do on mine replace the panel above, the waxy plastic has come off in certain areas looks messy or I might just scratch it off somehow, the shiny plastic underneath wouldn't look out of place with the bp trim.

That little vent is part of the climate control system. Sounds like you've got plain old A/C!

That vent has a plastic pipe that runs from it into the cooling unit behind the dash. Odd yours doesn't got a pic of the panel?

The vent has a ruddy great plastic bendy straw/hose thing that I have always assumed is used to get ambient temperature from the car interior.

I can't think what else it could be for; I don't think any are comes out of it...

I doesn't half get in the way when bulb-changing or wiring behind it.
