Collecting 66 tomorrow night - Anyone else?

Getting mine first thing tomorrow, order went in May I think. The car has been at the dealer for nearly a month so I've had a good look at it and driven it on trade plates.

Going to drive it to the end of the road festival that afternoon so it better be ok!

Just been told that the last part turned up 30 minutes ago and they won't have time to fit it before I collect the car. Will have to get it fitted next week.

The V90 is being tested against the Audi A6 Avant in next weeks Auto Express - hopefully reading the report that will help you in your wait for yours to arrive.

The picture in this week's edition shows a Luminous Sand model with 8 spoke alloys.

Cannot find the Luminous Sand model.

I will do, Tem.

The colour in the photo is a light sand colour, so I looked at the XC90 brochure to get the name of the colour - just looked on the Volvo configuration for the Inscription model and it shows Luminous Sand, also looks as though the 8 spoke alloys are 20" options.

No doubt the car has lots of options added.

Midnight drive:
Well the September 1st is here and at midnight I collected my XC90 and started long 140 mile drive back to Surrey. My impressions!
1) It’s big on the outside but was surprised just how ‘normal’ it felt when I was on the road
2) It felt great to drive, the D5 powerpulse felt punchy, responsive and quiet
3) HUD was amazing never seen it before and driving at night with it was brilliant, so glad I choose it. HOWEVER, when I switched on this morning it had lost calibration
4) Lane keeping assist, SCARY! Feels so strange but kept me on the road when I was trying to change music!
5) Seats – Need some adjustment as I just couldn’t get comfy, I think the lumber didn’t help
6) SENSUS – Good, but I found it a bit tricky to change music etc. on the go. This will be helped when I learn how to use it and the steering wheel controls
7) B&W – Sounded pretty good but I wasn’t blown away. This maybe because I need to fine due the settings and also the recent firmware update which some have reported has degraded the sound.
8) SAT NAV – Found this really good and am quite surprised about the negative comments – however I’ll reserve full judgment until I’ve used it more
9) LIGHTS – WOW incredible in the dark, blown away with how they lit up the road
10) FREE EXTRA – I seemed to have had the CD fitted in the glove box which I didn’t order! Not sure if this is standard with B&W?

Overall first impressions are good, thus I’m very happy so far. I’ll report back again in a few days!

I think I read somewhere that cd comes standard with B&W.

What wheels and suspension do you have and any view on road noise.
