Have just received in the post a rear strut brace from VMS in America.
http://www.volvomotorsports.com/catalog/ I will probably get round to fitting it on Friday. Will let you know if I feel any difference.

ray

i saw these before but they seem to take up alot of boot space.

remember seeing a T5 with an LPG conversion, the tank was right behind the back seats effectivley halving the payload space !!

still keeping that engine bay clean i see :)

cheers

Not sure how much use a rear one would be..... unlike the front of the car where there is no structure above the strut towers, in the rear of the car there is a steel structure joining both towers. It is probably stiffer in the saloon due to the solid parcel shelf but suffice to say there is a structure joining both rear towers above and below.
I say, save the money and put it towards a nice stainless free flow exhaust!! ;-)

Dan, thanks for the information. I bought the brace really on a whim! I have a large bore stainless exhaust fitted. Scott, yes I am still cleaning the engine bay. I had to do it recently as I had to pass a gritting lorry in the middle lane of the M1 doing 60 mph whilst gritting. The engine bay & wheel arches were caked with salt/grit. It was even in the battery tray!
Regards,

Fitted my rear strut brace. As well as improving the ride it has stopped lots of irritating rattles!

I never used to get any rattles from the back of my S40s. Mind you I did tighten the rear shocks on all of them as a matter of course.

Hi.

Get yourself one of Halfords great little stone chip repair sets.
You get a correctly coloured primer and some top coat, (Plus a lacquer if you have metallic paint) and the touch in brushes are very fine tipped and then they even have a 'pen' nib for really fine scratches.

Look on the bright side though, at least you found it before it became a nice blob of rust!

Dan.
