I wouldn't sweat it. If you don't see any error messages in the DIM, and the red warning light isn't showing (with attendant voltage/power system messages in the DIM) then that's probably as good an indication of the problem, or lack thereof, as you need.

Good luck.

Hi, I bought the car. As soon as i heard the sound of the V8 I was 50% convinced.
also the car is in really good condition. only thing that was not a 100% is the brake peddle is a bit soft and a bit long, but i got a good deal so hopefully maybe if i replace the fluid and bleed the brakes it might improve.
any ideas would be appreciated. Ian

Shares in BP?

Congratulations and enjoy your purchase. Even after 4 years of ownership, the sound of the engine at start up (and the lack of the diesel sound, period) still puts a little smile on my face.

make sure you have about 14.2 v minimum at the battery terminals with the loads on at 2500 rpm , It is heat dependant too , more at low temperatures and less at high temperatures

Would you mind letting me know which 3.2 you looked at? Not many around and you would save me the trip!

Here are the two I went to see. On the 2006 one the parking brake didn't work at all so MOT fail, rear discs pitted needed changing, also had a couple of substanial dents, engine sounded quite noisy at the top, like cam followers. he didn't know if the gas worked, i got the impression it didn't.

The 2010 was really nice, but again no Parking brake rear discs pitted and needed changing, nearside rear door low down where the wheel arch is had a repair and the see through plastic stone guard was missing, door gap not perfect. I said to the seller, "there's repair to the rear right hand side" he said " we repaired it there was scratch there" it was more than a scratch. He offered me £50 off the price. i walked away. hope this helps

Hi, I collected the car today from near Huntingdon and drove back to London.
The engine is very lively, acceleration is rapid, it's a lot better than i thought it would be. I am very happy with the car and will use for a trip to York this weekend. Thank for all the advice which helped with my decision to buy it.

Clan. I will test the alternator tomorrow when I have some help to rev the engine.
Ian
