700s are Classics.
I've been banging on about this ever since joining this venerable forum.
Think the early ones are the ones to have though - especially 744s. Prufrock. |

The only reason you see carbooters with non descript volvo estates is most are in reality traders who only want something big to carry there rubish in so cant be bothered to clean..Now let me assure you at 83 years old and with a walking Disability my car is cleaned on a regular basis i also went to the trouble recently of body scrubbing the roof before polishing and like my freind laney can only do so much ,haveing arthritis throughout my body,,but 57rkl i do like a clean car and my 745 happens to be 1987 but 88model ,i have found in my lifetime that if you look after your car and keep all parts in good condition then that car will look after you..regards sunnyvic VOC Disabled register

Hi Vic, I'm not blaming anyone and i wasn't even thinking about my advert TBH. It was just an observation from the examples I see out and about.
I've had two phone discussions with prospective buyers re buying my 740 last week and both were wanting a car ready for 'work' and were put off by needing an exhaust. They dont 'see' that it's a rare 740 Turbo Intercooler Manual estate in white with very good bodywork. Now if you are an enthusiast, these are the things you will be looking for. I hope this clarifies my point without offending anyone. |

Trees, birds and classic Volvos.

I have to say I like the birds and their song...we get Woodpeckers, Goldfinches, Blue Tits, Sparrows, Jackdaws, Lapwing...the list goes on, and you just cannot beat the song of a Skylark. The biggest bird poo culprits here are the Wood Pigeons. To get up early on a summer morning and to hear birdsong - call me a romantic - it's one of the simple pleasures of life. Prufrock. Midsummer Meet.
I'm happy with that, a meet of like-minded folk with a barbeque and some cold ones sounds fine.
The 700 Owner's Midsummer Meet - who's organising it then? Tents overnight in the garden - can't put you all up in the house! Prufrock. |
