Right just come back from a good 100 mile drive in the car which started off with the old, I wonder if the fault is still there after sitting and cooling for a few hours. Well during the first 20 or so minutes I was driving it gently to allow the engine oil etc. to come up to operating temperature. Then after that I gave it about 1/2 throttle and found the boost level to be as it was earlier. Went to the same section of A road I was on early and navigated a few roundabouts to no avail still very low boost.
Then when I came to the next roundabout I decided to call it a night and swing round it and head back the way I had come and guess what.... thats right full boost the way it was before. Did a good 50 or so miles with it working perfectly in fact I think being as it was such a cold night it is probably fair to say it went better than it has gone since I have owned it. Then 20 miles from home on the return journey no boost again and this was the case all the way home its literally like a switch one minute its fine then its gone no warning and no change in vehicle behaviour apart from the obvious lack of power.
Im guessing that the above circumstances rule out the hoses as the cause of the fault and this therefore leaves the bcs, sticking actuator/wastegate arm or faulty Rica. Im not sure what you guy's think but I would like to go with the bcs as being the cause of the fault. Does this, based on the car's behavour, sound feasible?

Thats what I thought, phoned Volvo today and got 9125623 as a part number does that sound about right as the parts man wasn't 100 percent? Retail including vat for that part is £81.50.

No thats fine, tbh I think I am going to go for a new one anyway so thanks for the offer but after re-checking the obvious hoses again today and after the cars behaviour last night im pretty much smiten on the bcs so a new one will be ordered now I know the right part number for it.

Cheers for your gracious offer none the less, see you at Marham
