HI, I changed my speings on the weekend on the shoes as mine were rattling

I have a problem now though handbrake was wound off completely when i took it all off the actuator came off the cable I have re inserted it and put it all back together but now the brake shoes are binding on the right side if I look at the acuator it is not fully retracting to allow shoes to relax so to speak and if i then take a screwdriver to the slot in the actuator and slide the 2 pieces of it together it is then fine.

As soon as I put handbrake back on they stick again

what have I done wrong ?

regards,

Si

Hi all,

I have just noticed that the Scandinavian 3rd part OEM suppliers have a bolt-on handbrake lug that works as a nice repair if you have suffered the typical hand brake whoes. It cost approx 10£ and this is a lot cheaper than the complete rear hub casting. Picture:

Also does anyone have a pic of exactly how the offside handbrake cable fits onto the adjuster in the pic I posted ?

Thanks

Simon
