Get one bunged on a take some pics!
Traction is improved with the 1041 axle (which I'm putting on mine soon). Some wider 17'' or 18'' lower profile tyres would probably help too.
I've got the necessary oil return etc, I'm used to fitted the on 850s etc.

I've already fitted 17 new steelies on with new tyres 205/45/17.

I'm dropping it 50mm on kilen springs and b4s, although I may have to take half a coil out to get the desired drop.

320mm brakes already made and fig under the steelies with no spacers.

So getting there

I get wheel spin in the wet at 100mph but then again I'm only using tyres out of a scrap yard 215/65/15. I also fry the tyres at 40mph in the dry if I floor it in second.
My point was that compared to my original tyres (195/65/15), it now handles much, much better than before. No doubt my lack of horsepower gives them an easy ride, and your engine would have them stripped down to the canvas in one standing start, but for me it is a worthy improvement. Wet weather wheel spinning and getting sideways on & exiting roundabouts was fun, but I can live without it - I prefer the high speed stability & overall feel of the new set up, and the extra horses will follow soon enough chap.

Just reading through this and was wondering if different axle ratios and gearboxes might be making some cars feel slower. When I swapped my engine and box I left the auto ratio axle on it to begin with. The car felt much more lively with the auto axle but because it has an early m90 box in it never seemed to be in the right gear. Most noticeable was how it accelerated well in 5th on the motorway.

I've since swapped it for the proper hpt Turbo one now and it's not so much fun now, perhaps I will swap it back again !

Spoke with my machinist friend today, he is going to machine the rod on the shock to extend the thread down 20mm so the spring will not be loose when lowered a bit more.

Hopefully it should work ok

Hey 7mgtesup, on your car spec list I see you had the 850R clutch setup - did you use washers on the clutch fork or get a longer slave cylinder rod made up?
