I've had this one before, and it appears to be fairly common with these cars.

Moisture gets into the door connector by the hinge and causes corrosion and high resistance contact.

Undo the check strap on the door, and remove the connector. Clean with contact cleaner and an old toothbrush, and then apply dielectric grease to the contacts to prevent future corrosion.

My drivers door connector was all green and furry inside when I cleaned it out, the passenger side didn't look too bad, but still cleaned and greased it.

This YouTube video was useful to help figure out how the connector is removed.

I cleaned the connector, both sides with contact cleaner and a tooth brush but no good. My Autel reader either can't clear the code or it isn't the connector at fault.

is it a hard code if so you will need a specialist to remove it.

Just looked up the SRS code in VIDA and this is what it says

Quote:
884: SRS-0055 Inflatable curtain (IC), right. Resistance too high

Condition

The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the right-hand inflatable curtain.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the resistance in the ignition cable is too high for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Possible source

Open-circuit or contact resistance in the SRS ignition cable or in the connector between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the right-hand inflatable curtain
Open-circuit in the right-hand inflatable curtain (the resistance is too high in the igniter section).

Fault symptom[s]

SRS indicator lamp lit
SRS warning message displayed
So it's basically a bad connection, or a failed airbag.

There is a testing procedure for it as well, but it's basically connecting a Volvo special tool instead of the curtain air bag, and forcing the resistance test to run again. There's even a calibration step for the special tool (9511506) which says to check the resistance of the tool is between 1.8 ohms and 2.5 ohms. so I'd expect it would be easy enough to replicate this tool at home if a suitable value resistor could be found!

SRS fault codes will always remain until reset, they just go from 'Permanent' codes to 'Intermittent' codes once they have been fixed, but the SRS light will remain lit. Some code readers can reset them, but the cheaper ones are not able to.

If you find yourself in Brighton (Hove actually!), you're welcome to stop by and see if it can be reset with VIDA. PM if interested.

While I was at it I looked up the other codes...

Quote:
372: CEM-DD13 Communication with the right-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL). Signal missing

Condition

The central electronic module (CEM) transmits and receives information via a standardized serial communication method - LIN (Local Interconnect Network).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the communication with the right-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL) is missing for more than 5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed at key positions I and II.

Possible source

Short-circuit between the LIN wiring
Open-circuit in the LIN wiring
Internal fault in the control module
Internal fault in another control module in the same part of the LIN network.

Fault symptom[s]

Low beam does not work
High beam flash does not work
High beam does not work.

Checking the component and wiring

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates that the communication between the right-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL) and the central electronic module (CEM) is interrupted. This may be due to a fault in the cable between the control modules or a defective communication device in one or both of the control modules.

Check the cable between the right and left-hand gas discharge lamp modules (GDL). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Take readings between:

Right-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL) terminal #A11 and left-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL) terminal #A12.

Check the cable between the central electronic module (CEM) and the left-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Take readings between:

Central electronic module (CEM) connector terminal #G26 (#26) and left-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL) terminal #A12.

Also check that the fuse for the headlamp is intact. Replace the fuse if necessary.
The left hand headlight is the master controller, and receives the control signals from the CEM, the right hand GDL is the slave controller and it's control signals are passed on from the left hand side.

So check headlamp fuses (F54, F58, F59), then buzz the connectors between the left and right GDL modules.

CCM-0040 Air quality sensor. Internal fault

VIDA just says to replace it.

I haven't looked into this area much, so I'm not sure if this is the sensor under the dash with a built in fan, and sometimes just needs cleaning out and the fan checking/lubricating, or if it's something else.

Thanks Pinball.

Ive just spent an hour swapping over bulbs / bulb connectors and the right hand side does not work.

Where is the GDL / Light control module located ? Im tempted to order one from ebay.

Ive also tempted to order another side airbag from eBay too . Just removed door card and noticed a number of cable ties to the connector / airbag. Ive cleared it up, made the connector tight again but still the error continues. The end of the air bag looks rusty. so for 50 quid I might get another one.

I also might take you up on that vida offer :-)

... because if it was from a trader you might be spending money unnecessarily.

air quality code appears when the aqs is dirty i dont think it is cleanable and its an expensive part to replace for what it dose. it controls a flap which closes when contaminated air is present and stops it entering the cabin.
