I checked again this week with my tyre man and he confirmed that there are no 18's as yet. So not good news for most of us XC60 owners.

Hopefully they will come soon.

Most UK tyre outlets do not have a good selection of winter / cross-climate tyres during the summer months.
Try looking on www.mytyres.co.uk
They have a continental supply chain and seem to stock all tyre types irrespective of the month.

I have Pirreli Scorpion Verde tyres on my new xc60 FWD but they don't say all season. Are they just a summer tyre? If so I wonder why volvo fit them instead of all season.

Maybe I didn't make it clear. 18's don't exist as yet. 17's
are the biggest they make.

Yes, that would make more sense. Land Rover are fitting the Verde all season on the Evoque and new Range Rover Sport.

Hi
I had quite a discussion with a tyre shop about winter tyres and insurance.
After a look around I found this.
Could be quite useful
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...99261572,d.d24
So this infers a few companies need notification and may charge more for winter tyres, seems crazy.

Thanks.

Cheers,

8k on mine now mike and superb.

Not done any towing so cant comment but I should imagine no problems should be encountered.

Just for the record, I fitted a set of Pirelli Verde in 18" 103V (load rating / speed rating) all weather's about 2 months ago on my XC60 and they have changed my perception of Pirelli - the OEM Pirelli Scorpions on my old XC70 were not a patch on these Verde tyres.

Not too many miles yet, but so far quite impressive.
