Do try those comparison websites, always worth a go even if they quotes come back crap. Lets just say quote me happy wernt quoting me happy with wanting over £1200 for me with the above!
It might be worth double checking your quote. I did the exact same thing yesterday, and I was given a really good price. I checked it on the More Than website, and even though I said I didn't want a Voluntary Excess, they had included a £750 voluntary!!! When I changed it, the price had went up by more than 20%.

I had my renewal quote from Adrian Flux , and it came in at £280 . After much shopping around, I found Swinton were £40 cheaper . This was the cheapest quote I could find with decent cover anywhere, legals , windows green card etc.
I went back to Flux and asked them if they could match it or even better it.
They came back by beating Swinton, by £10.00 . Not only that but I got European and UK breakdown cover for £45.00, so basically got breakdown free. !!!!
Beat that !!

Wow! Surely not all 3rd party claims?

Ah luckily I double checked all that and my excess is around £400 which is as low as I could get it due to age etc.

My friend got caught driving after not declaring his mods and was given an IN10 conviction.

But your policy may be deemed invalid by many insurers if you haven’t declared all of your modifications.
An article I read after that got me thinking.
