MTE here, very drivable even in the wet
have used it in the snow and hard packed ice too with socks fitted, with very impressive results no traction problems even up steep icy hills and hill starts on the same , see here http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showpo...4&postcount=38 |

Rica 304 here, I didn't buy it, it came on the car when I got it. (something tells me it was done by chip tuning, will have to check the paperwork)
Epic torque, a real tyre shredder - wheels will spin at 50-60mph on kickdown in the wet and from a standing start wheel spin is a problem until after 50mph. Fun until you get a load of torque steer whilst trying to overtake something on a damp road. I've seen 145 on the clock and the car still wants to push on. My arse-o-meter says about 260BHP, I can't be bothered to waste money on the rolling road as it's an auto. The car is 13 years old now and it's all I've got for the next couple of years so I give it a little respect now. I personally think the durability of a car is all down to how you treat it. It gets oil, filters and plugs regularly and it seems happy. If I was starting from scratch I'd be probably thinking of a MTE though from what I've read. It seems to be the choice before a stand alone ECU is needed and is probably what I'd be wanting for a higher value car.

ALL the above is EXACTLY why I went for the MTE map I did a lot of reading and asking question before hand, to my mind the MTE was the only choice just to add my car has had the MTE for just over two years now and it is faultless thanks again to Don Last edited by y2blade; Jan 15th, 2010 at 12:08. |

I should also add that Kings of Witcham who are the RICA agent for the Cambridge area have always provided their customers with a very high standard of customer service. Last edited by rica; Jan 15th, 2010 at 13:47. |

I have a stage 1 MTE remap with no other performance modifications on one of my cars, the car has automatic transmission. I find the MTE remap suits the car very well, I have tracked the car and competed in the VOC Motor Sport Challenge last season. IC also competed and has the MTE remap, I beleive if you look at our 64 foot times (the time taken to cover 64 foot from a standstill) both of us beat Russ's 64 foot time in his Peril.
IC's car is manual mine is an auto none of us have any gearbox or relaibilty issues, both our cars hold boost at WOT with no fuel issues or loss in boost due to knocking. Their is alot of information on various forums regarding mapping, I would recomend a scout around the T5D5 forum for good reliable information. I would not hesitate in recomending MTE remaps from Don |

had a rica 320 remap on my volvo v70 2.4 T5 2006 model. (6 speed manual) work done by FG automotive, mansfield, notts at a cost of £430. all done within 1 1/2 hours, customer service excellent. had map on car for 6 months now and found it smooth and progressive (as perhaps it is a newer map), I don't know.
It only wheelspins 1st gear aggressive standing start, otherwise smooth torque and pulls strongly all the way to redline. gave me 2-4mpg increase according to fuel computer. car has standard suspension other than front strut brace which seemed to eliminate torque steer after fitting it. I personally would recommend rica, car is so much better to drive. anthony. Last edited by badgerbox1; Jan 15th, 2010 at 15:15. |

I still haven't heard of any real feedback channels (doesn't mean there are any) but with the supplier of my map I have spoken to and seen (face to face) the designer of the software on numerous occasions. I also have recieved an updated map (ETM replacement) completely FOC. Even when I changed engine they checked the map was running perfectly for me FOC. To be frankly honest. in order to cover the world for customer service, a person with knowledge of French, English, German, and Spanish is more than adequate unless you are a major international corporation)

When RICA did have problems with their right hand man (which they were WELL aware of) .. they hid and refused to answer any questions, assist anybody or do anything to bring them into line. Thing is... Turkey's just don't vote for Christmas do they Adam... (Oh sorry... rica...) I find it very hard to keep all these usernames straight...
