Placed an order for a new SE in Oyster Grey. Not much info on the new engine yet but hopefully a little more mpg and a bit more punch from the extra power and torque. That said I couldn't wait around for any more info as delivery for the end of Dec is predicted. Don't want to get hit with the extra VAT!
By the way....pretty sure the new model when it comes will not attract such generous discount support from Volvo so I would expect to pay close to list price for the first year or so. |

I'm not even convinced Volvo or their Chinese masters know what will replace the xc90 and when. The quickest solution is a stretched xc60 or a r class type of car both of which are rumoured. Their are rumours of a hybrid drivetrain as well. It is not clear what the market for a large, heavy, relatively polluting 7 seater, from a small volume producer is in the long term. Of course moving production to a cheap labour market is another option.
In any event an xc90 active for the same price as a specced mini countryman is a no brainer IMHO. As is an exec for the same price as a well specced Kia sorrento. |

I am wondering whether the new XC90 diesel engine will have the same power and emissions characteristics as the current XC60 which has exactly the same no of cylinders and displacement. Is this just a new clever chip in the same block? Yours Intake

When the time comes, the new Chinese masters I hope will replace with a new model rather than stretch an XC60. In fact can't see that as viable as the car would not offer like for like space.
