Interesting. a work colleague with a V60 reckons my V50 is more spacious. Might be deceptive as the V50 has more glass area so feels bigger

I had a V60 as a courtesy car from the dealer and although I liked it, I thought the boot was considerably smaller than our V50. It's probably wider and deeper but the boot floor was really high meaning the height between the boot floor and the load cover was less than a foot.

The V60 boot is slightly bigger if you check the stats (415 litres v 430 from memory) but probably less useable space due to slope of tailgate. It was more the space for rear passengers (I was sad enough to take a seat in the back during a coffee stop!) and extra width between front seats that impressed. Also found it attractive from all angles, and a nice solid feel to it. Think I may just be tempted (T6) especially as my wife is upsizing from a Mazda 3 to an Octavia Scout (so no need for a V70 size car now )

Cool Next car

As it has to be a convertible for me, then I would like it to be an MB E350 CDI. A bit of an old fart wagon, but then if the cap fits......

Still too expensive as a daily commuting vehicle, but when they are around the £7-8K mark then I might swap.

My current C70 D5 geartronic is a great commuter car as it does 40mpg, is easy to drive and overtakes easily on A roads, but ride quality is not the C70s best feature (even with some new B4s installed). A bit too much scuttle shake on anything but super smooth roads, which is something we can only dream about in deepest Suffolk!

For a £5K car I can't complain, especially when the roof comes down in the good weather

Does anyone know / have an educated guess on the size of the anticipated XC40 in comparison with the V50? I want a chunky, medium sized car when I replace my V50.

My lease IS300h hybrid was collected yesterday at end of lease and my retirement. Excellent car, many bells and whistles, and a bit more PC than the late model diesel C70 I've bought to replace it!

Previous car to the Lexus was a C class Merc.........
