Default Ecu damage

Well the ECU was returned yet again this week and is now coming up with a fault of glow plug relay fault? upon turning the ignition on the glow plu light comes on briefly, and there is a short pulse of power at glow plug, but the car refuses to start, we did manage afetr much messing around to get it to run, and once running seemed reasonably happy, this is the only code coming up now?
Question ...is the glow plug relay controlled by an internal part of the ECU? ie we still have a problem with the flaming thing? this has been back and thro to them more times than i dare count!!
Can anyone shed some light for us?
