Code Reader
Hi all
Away for the weekend, so not much chance to get on here unfortunately. I'm happy to make 5 code readers, but if there is someone out there already making them then perhaps it would be best just to better publicise that source? The plan was to make a few, sold at cost, to get enough out there that they can be shared by others and help keep our cars on the road. I'm not aiming to make a profit so I'm perfectly happy to let someone else take on the work! The ones I make will be very similar to the one gpl1968 has made in his post above. The actual parts will be different, whatever is best value at the time I order, but the function will be the same. I can make them for £28 each including postage within the UK. I'll post a picture later of the one I made for myself ages ago. If there is still interest, I'll get on and order the parts for 5. Thanks Craig |

I had a ofter just after CrogThomas and this offer was on hold and seller didn't want too tread on anyone's toes.
I have thanked Craig for his generous offer to build us the units but I think it was unfair of me to expect him to do so, as he just wants to help out, this process takes time and sorry for bugging you via PM's bud, but as Craig has said he is still happy to build five so I have updated the list so the first reserve will be taking my place as I have decided to go for another unit. If you guys want the five units make that clear to CrogThomas so a more appropriate thread is created. You now know the costing. Updated list. 1. Laney760 2. Yoda960 3. adie moore 4. Smithy (depended on price) 5. Roadcar2000 (depended on price) On the reserve bench: A. Inparry B. JamesN (dependent on price) C. Isis D. Does aka CTCNetwork E. Doug2942 For those interested in the other offer I had, it was for a compact and ultra compact model with list of codes (I have posted a link for the list of codes early in the thread)

making
As I live 5 minutes from Maplins I'm building one this week. If it's not too much of a hassle I'll consider making some more for people.

This is what I intend to make. Something similar to, but probably completely unlike this:
DSCF1244 by crogthomas, on Flickr I might make some stickers for the switch positions, rather that subject people to the writing of a five year old (mine). |

Most of the parts have arrived and I've started assembling the readers. Just a few bits to come. |
