The eBay one has arrived. I'm pleased to say that its good quality fits very well on the 2014 XC60. It was easy to fit and looks great too...

Looks great, thanks for posting pics. I will be ordering one later I think! What holds it on? Does it look like you could remove it without damaging paint? Many thanks again.

MikeIOW yes that's the one. It comes from Poland so takes a week to 10 days to arrive but it's well packaged and is a nice item.
It has two strips of slightly padded double sided 3M tape running along the length of the outer edges. It comes with a cleaning cloth and clear instructions. Could it be removed without damaging the paint? Suspect you could on a hot day if you peeled it off slowly. My view though is that you attach this with the intention of it staying. Get someone with a steady hand to attach it right first go. My wife makes hand made curtains for a living so has hands of steel and a good eye so she actually put it on for me, although since it lines up nicely with the side edges of the panel it's easy enough.

Thanks. I was just wondering how tatty and scratched it might get. If ever I decided to sell the car I guess I could always replace with a brand new one, for that much money would probably be worth it.

It's made of strong looking brushed steel and I think should wear pretty well but time will tell. I wanted one as I often put a road bike in the back of the car and catching the pedals on the top of the bumper is difficult to avoid and would quickly trash the paint work. The bumper on our old Focus estate is not a pretty sight!

Exactly the same reason I want one!

Sorry if I've come into this thread a bit late but I can confirm that Volvo do supply the bumper top in textured black plastic and it is a direct replacement for the body coloured one fitted as standard. Costs about £60 from the dealer much better that the stick on plastic or stick on alloy ones and takes 5 minutes to fit, just pop off your body coloured insert(now kept pristine to put back on when you trade in or hand back the car) and click the black one in place.
Just fitted one to my MY 15 car, looks great and keeps the dogs great paws off the paintwork, neither the fold out bumper protector or the new plastic stick on one covers the full width as this one does.
Can provide part number if anyone is interested.

Here is the eBay stainless steel one on my white 2015 XC60. You can always polish stainless however scratched it gets. Not that mine is showing any scratches yet.
