transmission. Very convenient to drive, the gearbox works very smooth, but there is no engine brake to speak of.
Silent interior, no road noise to speak of (19" Conti's, air suspension), although more prominent than in our
XC70, probably due to less other sources of noise such as the engine. Air suspension is great, navigation works well.
But the screen did become too dirty to my eyes, so I installed the Brotect Airglass screen I already had.
Adaptive cruise control is awesome. I am not a fan of cruise control, but the adaptive feature is fantastic.
Perfect on highways, very comfortable in stop and go traffic. The standard audio system is good (enough),
although I have no doubts that the B&W is better (as it should be).
Steering wheel controls work intuitive, seats are great. Reverse mirror view needs some getting used to,
BLIS is great. Voice control wasn't tested. Airco was on auto and works well. The HUD is nice.
Still a lot to discover and learn, VOC still doesn't work...
Very interesting, which Country are you in? Cheers

I live in Belgium, probably the most difficult country in the world to run since (or because)
it has 6 governments and 6 parliaments

Are there noticeable differences in the MY2018 interiors? My dealer tells me that the R-Design heated steering wheel will be the same design as the usual R-design one with shift paddlers, and rumours from another forum is that the ignition dial now doesn't turn left and right, just right now?

Is this correct? Any other differences noticed?

I got mine yesterday. D5 inscription, amber interior, onyx black paint (should have been osmium grey but that is another story). I have the VOC registration issue, but apart from that, no problems.

The standard audio is "ok" IMO. Not amazing, good enough. I'd never pay the premium for the B&W so it's moot to even mention it.

I love the pilot assist and am using it as much as possible, to see what it can do. So far I've managed to avoid going into a field.

I have the standard 20" wheels at the moment (should have been the optional 20" ones but that is another story). I can't fault the road/wind noise, but then I have come from a Merc Vito sport van, so...

Minor point but looks like on the Nappa leather seats with heater blowers that the base side bolsters have 2 part leather now rather than one part. Sports contour seats no longer available for Inscription.

The button now has a Microsoft Windows design (press start to stop) and can only be turned to the right.
I am not aware of other differences, but since I haven't owned a previous MY, I could very much be mistaken.
It's a Momentum with Moritz leather seats, I don't know about the interiors of the Inscription and R-Design.

I can confirm that the R-Design heated steering wheel does have paddle shifters and has the R-Design badge. The ignition switch does on turn to the right (clockwise) only.

Ha ha, I can see that one driving me mad when I get my new one after having to turn the switch to the left for 18 months.....

I can only imagine that they've had some sort of issue with it on some cars otherwise it seems like a pointless thing to change.

I don't like the ignition switch. A simple push-button would be better.

They've basically made it work like a push switch, in that those work like a biro with a push to start and a further push to stop. Now it must be a twist to the right to start and a further twist to the right to stop. No better or worse really, just different and probably saves them 5p a switch in cost or something. Yes, they might well have had a few failures, but it can't be very common or someone would have mentioned it here or elsewhere. On the other hand it might just be that someone at Volvo just thought to simplify the switch and process for the driver.
