£12k including buyer's premium. Not a bad result.

Gosh! That must have been around £10,500 plus commission. That is rather more than I'd have expected, perhaps the historic vehicle premium is worth a bit more than I thought?

I suspect it's the rarity value of a (still) running 265GLE Alan. Many succumbed to the Peugeot camshaft and Renault head gasket problems, thankfully Volvo fixed all those things for the B280 like i had in my 760 as well as giving it a useful increase in power and torque as a result of other things.

Well a rather interesting auction ad on C&C with only 2 days to go, might satisfy Alan's desire for a P6??, plenty of space for Bob, but then again, it's a rather rare VWW!!!!

https://www.carandclassic.com/auctio...tate-p6-n7Rblg

Only at £4800 so far with a valid MOT, and looks as though the MOT tester likes finding advisories as many listed but look to be just copied/pasted year to year.

Cheers
Steve

PS - Oh, and its only got 181 photos.....

That does look like a quirky motor car (a good thing, I like quirky) - but it is a VWW (... you know the story).

Bids are up to £7,100 with a day and a half to go; I think that will sell for strong money.

That looks just about perfect for you Steve. Running and riding with a few little jobs (a bit of welding are redecorating, and a bit of upholstery).

If you don't buy this one I don't think you ever will

Get yourself down to Darzit Steve and get that 145 bought! It's a bit of a rough diamond but will keep you occupied for running repairs/resto as Alan pointed out while still being usable enough to make it a good car. Paint should polish up nicely after some T-Cut etc, always liked that off-white colour.

Looks like the rear lower quarters are filled which isn't unusual for them to go. Probably needs; rear outer sills, inner and outer arch repairs, upper rear shock mounts, rear quarter repairs. All the repair panels are available and a pro would probably cost £1500 to £2000 to weld in at a guesstimate. None of those repairs are scary and pretty standard for a used classic. Just a bit of time and the quality of the repair panels aren't great so they do take a bit more effort to get to fit nicely.

I have some very good wings and a NOS grill if you wanted to tart it up. :-)
