Replaced the lower engine mounts and something else. Further below Pics aren't the best, as I was indoors (was a bit chilly) and like that I had to do quick snap shots rather than fuss around with the camera.
Okay, now part 2... The D5 went... ...straight piped! No silencers and you know what? You barely notice a difference. Inside and out, it is slightly deeper in it's tailpipe chugg but that would be it. Still, found out my DPF is broken and I need to replace it soon. Sound isn't really much. The recording is a little windy but the initial run is a bit deeper... Idle: https://youtube.com/shorts/cyQMTV9Au...fqkzIyFSJStauG Reving: https://youtube.com/shorts/dftxEH_1d...NOiB2hXJfic9Wu Unfortunately the wind didn't help in the second video. What I notice is the turbos are more dominant. Otherwise no drone, no rattles, no pops or bangs... It isn't petrol powered. But hey, it still is better looking than what Volvo fitted to standard D5s from the factory! Those weird not fully round nor oval exhaust pipes are just weird.

New headlight bulbs in my wife's xc70, the old ones had dimmed noticeably since last winter.
Went for the Osram Xenarc, £37 each from https://www.powerbulbs.com/ tempted by the night breaker ones but at twice the price I decided to settle for these, we'll see how they go once it's properly dark. They lights are pointed far too low for my liking but that's a job for another day when there is a convenient wall to point them at.

Used the increadably nice weather and gave him a good thorough wash and clean up... Then decided it was time for some pictures:
Next job is all in the works: the bugger is way to high up! I didn't want an SUV!!!

Picked the old bugger up from the workshop... New DPF and a software update and it seems to have done the job.

Washed it and gave it a dose of Henry inside. Gave the windscreen a good clean inside and out. Will give the seats some leather cleaner and treatment next time there's a warm day.
Forgot to lower the wipers onto the screen from the parked position before switching the ignition on. How infuriating is that when the edge of the bonnet does the job for you? No paint lost, but oh so annoying!

Basically the last few days... Replaced every suspension part apart for the rear trailing arm pivot bush. The rest is all brand spanking new. Also with new shocks and struts as well as Eibach lowering springs. Drives like a new car. No clonking noises. Nothing. Perfect. Just needs an alignment (booked in for Friday)...
Sorry for the upright pics... Was fighting my phone for a while. Some setting has managed to make itself go bonkers... Before: After: Next things are in the lineup...

Gave the 162,000 mile P3 V70 D5 a bit of love today...
-Washed and dried the whole car - Vacuumed the interior, including the boot - Cleaned the leather seats with leather cleaner - Applied leather cream - Wiped all the dash down - Cleaned the windows inside with glass cleaner This is a workhorse, so it does get a bit grubby. Its simply not possible to keep it spotless clean all the time. It came out looking as clean as can be.
