The issue of one car in a class winning is a difficult one, and it has been discussed at very great length on many occasions. The general consensus is that what we are currently doing is correct. The reason for this, is that if you have spent considerable time and money preparing your car, to walk away empty handed because no other models have turned up is in my opinion wrong. However the flip side to this is if my V40 were the only entry, it would win! (and then there really would be no justice!)

RE my comments towards the bias for the older cars were my own opinion which I think is shared amongst others; however I do understand the other side's point of view. However I still believe that they need to sort out the classes for the later cars as well as the working car class.
As regards one car being in a class I was of the understanding that a minimum number of points had to be scored in order to win a prize. If that is currently not the case then surely that is the best way of dealing with that problem. The organizers have justification for awarding the prize and the owner has the satisfaction of an honourable victory - even if he/she has the only car.
