I had the "pleasure" of a Ford Escort cabrolet unexpectidly pull out of a junction and then stop as I was going past. (Was I invisible??) Oily wet road and no ABS in my 740 meant I still hit her at about 10mph, hitting her drivers side front wheel flat on.

Volvo - new plastic cover for bumper, new headlight, respray to bonnet.

Escort - engine and engine bay pushed 6" sideways in relation to the rest of car....

Something to do with "conservation of momentum".....

She immediately admitted it was her fault (much to the dispair of her insurance company) and three weeks later I passed her very very slowely at the same junction as she drove a brand spanking new Fiat....

A few years back I had a 1977 264 that I couldnt afford to insure so my mom tootled round in it for a year or so. One day she had to stop on a busy road to let a lorry coming the other way, pull out and go round some parked cars. Just as she stopped a brand new rover 25 crashed into the back of her. Dont know how fast, but the bumper and bonnet was bent on the rover, headlights out, bit of a mess. No damage at all to the volvo, although the rubber strip on the ally bumper had split. I tried to get the driver of the rover to go though the insurance, but when I took into account my mum losing her NCD it wasnt worth it so he was let off.

Just as well really as the driver had borrowed the car from his dad and was uninsured. His dad had borrowed the car from rover as he was a worker there. I should have really informed the police, but didnt think of it at the time.
