Drove across the country to Keswick for a week of fell walking. Checked the oil when I got back and it looks like it's using way, way less (nothing really) than it was so hopefully it was just a poorly fitted washer rather than anything sinister.
Behaved perfectly on the long drives and in the hills. Average Mpg now over 40 which is pretty good given a week in the lakes!

Took mine to Norfolk and back for my Gran's birthday party. Decided to take the A12 - that was a bad idea, accident near Colchester, peeled off at a slip road and rejoined later on (what would we do without sat nav?). Had to do a bit of caning to get there in time for lunch, at least my EGR will have got a bit of a clean out. Just over 270 miles there and back, avg 58.9. Trusty old workhorse

Drove to work parked the car and let the rain wash it lol. It needs a proper wash this week but it won't shine like alex's until I get her moped but I have a long list of things to do until then

I hand-painted large visible parts of the engine with its second coat of BMC Green High-Temp engine paint yesterday afternoon
This morning woke to find the outside cold and damp, so sat in the car, gently warmed the engine up at tickover revs to 80c then shut her off and left the paint to finish baking on as the heat seeped out through the engine. That should have stopped any moisture affecting it I hope She's a bit messy right now as I didnt worry about overpainting the edges of some plastic trims, those are going to be sprayed silver in due course anyway, but the metalwork looks superb. Whiteblock engines soon get a bit crusty on the surface, and a shining coat of paint is so much more attractive I figure it should slightly protect the engine from cold, damp, grime and corrosion in winter too. Anything for a faster warmup and better running...
