Amazon wheels aren't hub centric, they rely on the wheel nuts for centring. Perhaps spray one up in the colour of your choice and get a cheap used tyre fitted so that you can really see what you have and whether it clears or not. Try a 215 maybe to really check the clearance and have it nearer the correct diameter. Check on the rear too.

Whilst most modern wheels are hub-centric, many spacer vendors sell flat extenders as 'lug-centric' with conical nuts for centering. That would be the alternative, and would work no less well than the original steel wheels (i.e. perfectly well). The alloy wheels won't eat anything in the shed, so I'll hang on to them for a while and see how the mood takes me but I don't really think any alloys would suit GAM (not even Minilite wheels). Many thanks, Alan PS. These lug-centric spacers would work perfectly well with the Wolfrace wheels: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154920763...53.m1438.l2649 ... for only £70. I quite liked the idea of the 205/45 tyre making the diameter 5% less to partially correct GAM's speedometer issue (M41 gearbox/Type D OD/4.10:1 rear axle). I'm pretty sure I could make the wheels work, and the total cost would only be about £400 with tyres, so it wouldn't be an expensive experiment... we'll see :-).

Are you sure Alan? Ignore the white roof as (if memory serves) GAM doesn't have that but that could almost be GAM in the pic.

I do like Minilites, my 245 will sprout some the day I find some at the right money. Not that I can ever remember seeing any on one! 🤔

I don't think i've ever seen a 240 on Minilites* but the Volvo Pholus wheel is a close equivalent and of course is designed to fit. Alan has the RBs winter tyres on Pholus wheels, he might add a pic if you ask him nicely. * an internet search didn't reveal any 240s on Minilites either!

Not a fan of the minilites but the one thing about wheels is that they are permanent so put whatever on that rocks your boat.

and from the back: The Pholus wheels are quite similar, they only cost about £60/set, which is a fair bit cheaper than these which would fit Andrew's 240: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321823557335 - 5x108 PCD, 20mm offset, 5.5J x 15" rims - but about £600 with the postage from Italy (and maybe a bit of tax as well?). :-) Alan

I saw those “ Minilites “ when I was researching them. Nice but I’ve better things to do with the brass.
The RB sits well on those wheels , nice. Thanks for the piccies!👍 |

The Wolfrace wheels didn't cost much and they won't eat anything, so perhaps I'll store them in the motorbike shed (lots of space since I sold the Suzuki and the CCM) for a while to see if they come in handy (they would fit a Ford Mustang - now that is tempting!). Alan
