I have had an interest in this RHD 242 on ebay as a project ...

My take on that 242 (based on the pictures, and my knowledge of what my 164 has taken) is that it's probably little better than Ashok's 144, and you'd be a significant five-figure sum into sorting the rust out. It is probably worth restoring, but it would need to be a DIY-er to do it, I think, for it to remotely make economic sense - and an import would be much better value. I suspect it would make Joe's GT look like a bargain!

I wonder if it is the only 242 ever registered new in the UK? There can't have been many!
