That's great, out of interest did the "Cruise" message come up on the dash?

I had varying success even getting dealers to quote me for it, but I finally found someone I'm happy with and it's booked in for after lunch tomorrow. Will report back, hope it doesn't get "bricked"!!

I noticed that too and I've got no idea mate. It's odd!

I unplugged both of the cables round the back of the dash, after fitting new dials plugged them back in and off the mile went....

Very strange, if I do that another 100,000 times I maybe onto a winner

Not so much what I did today but what i've done over the last two weeks,
from this nice but ordinary looking S40;-

I brought two headlamps off a P2 from a local scrapyard, ordered new clear lenses of ebay, flatted down the bezels and sprayed them satin black, fitted Osram nightbreakers all around and LED sidelamps,

Also had the grille from the scrapyard, it had already had the centre painted black nice and neatly so I swapped over the badges as I wanted to retain its original badge,

I have for ages now considered the 15" wheels to small and really liked the Galactica style 16" rims so a set were brought off ebay and fitted, with new shiney lnuts off ebay too, the wheels are a lot scabby but I am looking forward to either refurbing them myself or having a local company do them, been quoted £45 per wheel, would like to do them myself as I love doing things like this. I have fitted P1 clear indicators for now as I want the black ones eventually, have seen them on ebay.

My little make-over has totally changed the way my car looks, need to tidy up a couple of little rust spots in the usual places and give it a good clay bar and polish after the winter. The difference in lighting is unbelievable, I modified the wiring so both dipped and high beams are on together, and the whole car feels much more planted on the road with its new wheels and tyres, some of my friends live in the countryside so going down the little narrow lanes at night is a whole new enjoyable experience.
Thanks all for such a good informative forum, spent many hours searching various topics whilst doing my make-over.
