View the Peterborough one, if it's good enough to warrant the asking price or at least a figure somewhere near it that you're happy to pay then buy it, if not, don't. I wouldn't entertain a £20k 60 year old Volvo as i don't think they're worth that yet and the seller is chancing his arm.

Always keep coming back to needing to see it in the flesh, so will travel tomorrow with a steely determination to not be swayed by a pretty paint job. Looks as though vendor would put through a new MOT as done a pre MOT according to description, the key is what the recent 'external refresh' extended to. My hunch its a quick blow over, probably covering a multitude of sins. However, I could be wrong and the main restoration 10 years or so ago is still good. Either way, I will be able to make a decision one way or t'other. Cheers Steve |

Hi Andrew,
I take it you mean the £20k one as I saw a note in the ebay listing heading ++Sold++ a few days ago. Might well be sold, or it of course could fall through. However I cant even convince myself £20k is a worthy spend on an old Volvo. Better half already chuntering about the £7k one Cheers Steve |

All the best for tomorrow. It’s the only way to lance the boil. When you’ve seen it you’ll know.

Just back, couldn’t get hold of chap with the Morris 8 so only viewed the 145.
Basically as thought, its had a quick blow over and loads of overspray, door shuts not done etc. However, the interior was all intact, no dash splits, no radio and still had factory radio blank panel Viewed it basically as a project motor, so proposed a deal where he gets a years ticket on it. I could then drive for next year to identify mechanical issues etc. by which time the rust will be bubbling up ready for a back to metal restoration. ITSv40 had identified a few issues, windows winders missing, but we’re with the car, clips keep falling out, boot Volvo badge missing, in the boot, and chrome trim for bonnet also in the boot😀 Evidence of filler in rear wings as expected, but all jacking points very good and not crumbly, had new sills at some point in last few years. Front scuttle, could not find evidence of filler, but I’m certain there is probably some lurking. OSF inner wing needs repair, as some damage caused when the bumper got bent, front grill on OSF corner it’s slightly bent, but should be able to be fixed. Will see what he says……..🤞🤞 Cheers Steve |
