Would it be a good idea to lock this thread or delete it? There is no useful info in here other than phone your local dealer?

My Volvo V40 Estate radio system is OFF

Have tried to reset it using the procedure in the Handbook - it does not work

The registration number is GY02EZD

In the history of this V40 classic forum, there has never been a greater case for a permanent sticky, notice or even pop up document, than the beloved radio code!

If some kind member could write one in simple English, like the following:
TRY CALLING OR VISITING YOUR LOCAL VOLVO DEALER and then write the forking code on page 173 of the worlds most common, but least read Volvo booklet, namely your beloved owners handbook.

That way if you sell the car, or get it confiscated by the Police or baliffs, the next owner will not finish up pestering all concerned for the radio code when they change their car battery (Or do something very unlikely, like read their V40 handbook and figure out they don't know their VIN number or radio code).
Come to think of it, any sticky might include where to find the VIN and engine number, as they can be required for ordering parts.

One final thought for the day, always screw the oil dipstick in when checking the oil level in a diesel Volvo AND try doing the same again before closing the bonnet!
I did know the latter about Volvos before joining this great forum, BUT it is in fact a screw in job for all V40s, cos that's wot it says on page 129 of the least read book in the world.
