The only reason i mentioned the Hartley Wintney meet Bob was to illustrate the point pubs are generally amenable to hosting events like this. I've known of it for 30+ years and heard it is still going.

Given i'm in Suffolk, Hampshire would be a bit far to travel for a meet for me but i'd certainly be up for one in/around this area.

I have a favourite meeting spot in Sussex near Arundel. A lovely location, huge car park and a cafe serving great food including the best burgers I've had in recent years.

Whiteways Cafe - don't tell anyone though.

Agreed, I'm in the Lincolnshire Wolds much of the time so we need to guage the appetite for a meet and then seek a location/venue accordingly. Hartley Witney...pal of mine used to live there.

I went there once about 20 years ago on my way to Shoreham for a feed, was good back then as well.

I was sort of hoping that as your location shows Lincs and Sussex, you were thinking of the meet from the Lincs end..........

How about a nice central location like Carlisle?

A new thread would be a best for a meet topic. A point of interest with free admission would be teh best option rather than KFC type location

..... and therein lies the problem of old. Those that might be interested are too far apart, and it's why such suggestions over the years have never come to anything. Sad but true.
