It may go to a better dealer, the regional tech will work through it after a month or two, resolve the issues and put it back into the network, either that or they’ll dump it onto BCA, but maybe the next dealer it goes to with the new owner will spend proper time on it.

Lex dragging their lazy asses along. Awaiting written confirmation of their offer for termination of the lease.
Waiting for Volvo to make us an offer we can't refuse to try keep us in brand and make good on our Lemon. Waiting for skoda to confirm £0 down and sub 500 a month for a fully loaded Kodiaq. Got a well specced Q5 on standby the dealer has done a pretty good deal on too. Winters are off the XC90 this am, just got to get it valeted. So bored of this whole process. Terrible experience. |

Yeah I wasnt blown away with the Kodiaq but the Q5 is really nice. Also surprisingly, the Skoda is marked down on child safety by euroncap for poor neck protection for 10yo kid in frontal impact. Thats almost there and then ruled the car out IMHO. Volvo just called. There's a real chance of us getting a new XC90 as dealer has finally stepped in to do their customer service bit and sort this mess out lol Will know more monday.. |

There are several reviews on youtube, here one of them. Not the same quality as the Volvo but they are a lot cheaper. https://youtu.be/b62ITcoqN0s

Can’t believe you’d go for another XC90 after all that.

Why not, he was unlucky in this case. There are loads of happy SPA XC90 drivers out there.

Neither can I but the more compelling a deal Volvo make it to just swap the more it makes sense..
The Skoda is incredibly compelling a deal. Zero down, sub 500 a month, can swap out after 2 years, 2 years free servicing and not being boned on the new 40k+ VED band. What I'm not 100% about is we've only done a short spin around the block, not an extended test drive. BUT... you can so so so tell its a value end VAG product... little things like the door card moves if you nudge it with ur elbow... the quality of the fabric in boot, the quality of plastics etc. The fact there is no cargo net or fixings for a dog guard... the bloke was like oh yeah, we have one that has suckers on it and goes onto the windows... I just looked at him and said 80kg of dog smashing against that.. Other areas of pure brilliance with the skoda you wished other manufacturers did like the optimisation of space on the platform, the plastic door protectors that pop out to stop you dinging the car next to you... The Q5 i've lined up needs £2k down now that I really don't want to have to spend and is into the £400 VED bracket etc + it's just in almost every way less practical than both the xc90 and Kodiaq but it is super lovely... BUT... the standard safety kit is just MEAN... no lane assist, no high speed brake assist, no collision avoidance, no speed camera recognition...no loads of the things the XC90 has that as standard makes it just the safer car but its got lots of other fancy stuff optioned. Always been my gripe with German cars, the options list... Skoda has most of them as it's a higher spec car. I've such amazing apathy for this whole process but Volvo and the dealer will automatically be on the back foot with any service issues as this will be a give-away deal to keep us in brand so we would be expecting to be looked after. Should know more on monday. Just want a car I can be confident in and have "some" pleasure wafting around in. Not too much to ask methinks. Part of me wants to ditch Volvo as if we get a new car and it suffers sensus BS and other common issues I'll be kicking myself but the reason for getting the xc90 still haunts me... its just a massively safe, comfy tank for transporting family, everything else is ultimately a compromise in some way. Bored of it all. |

I think the biggest letdown has been the dealer not the Volvo, they should have sorted that car out, generally the cars are very reliable with a few minor software glitches on some,, which are just easy updates to fix.

Skoda may look good on paper but after a few months you'll ultimately regret not sticking with Volvo. They make up the poor quality materials with smattering of tech and kit.
The adaptive cruise on my Skoda Superb was OK but compared to the V90, it's night and day. Skoda version was agricultural and jumpy.
