Nice to meet up with some regulars (or should that be reprobates) and more new faces although due to the somewhat inclement conditions I couldn't meet 'n greet everyone. I also managed to forget my camera so unless someone else publishes anything, sorry. I did borrow someone's camera and pulled off some "snaps" but trying to hang on to the brolly, not get the camera wet, take pics with somewhat chilly paws was getting a bit challenging. Hopefully they will get published if they are worth it.
As far as the meet goes, well even though a few people didn't turn up we still ended up with more than I'd booked for. Good on one hand, but meant that we couldn't all sit together nor could I get to natter to everyone. Weather - no comment, some things I am good at, weather control I'll admit is not one of them LOL. Hopefully I'll be able to try to organise another meet later on this year in better climes. 'til then safe and happy motoring (read road use for the two and four wheeled fraternity, who know who you are). edit: good to see one of the reprobates back in a Volvo

Firstly Thank you to Robbie for organising the event and to all those who braved the weather and turned up!
Despite the wet weather it was a fantastic turnout and both myself and Will enjoyed it, The banter around the table is always entertaining Ill look forward to the next one, You never know i might surprise you all and still have the Saab Cheers |

Good to meet you and Will Simon. Keep the Saab please, it looked brilliant (red) even in the weather (plus I can't keep up with your changes LOL).

Forgot to add, downer for the day:
i) blew a rear brake bulb (skinned knuckle time again) ii) the passenger side front head lamp protector got caught by a nasty side gust of wind just as we started dropping off of Saddleworth Moor and blew off. Thankfully no-one behind or to the side but it's taken a small chunk of paint off the wing

Another thanks to Robbie for organising another well turned out meet.
On my way home I passed a company who were felling a tree by the main road. Having just been out locally theres a few trees down along with all manner of signs, fences, chimneys etc. Seems we at the bottom of the hill have really taken a battering by this weather. People must think we're looney to go stand around in a car park in weather like this. Hope the damage to your car isn't too bad Robbie. |
