After cleaning out the system and pulling a one hour vacuum the moisture in the drier has gone and when refilled with gas the system works perfectly. Your first step is to have the system serviced by a competant engineer before going down the electrical route. Halfords should know better than to say that a system that is full of gas has unknown faults. First IA is always to vacuum the system to clean out any moisture and crud. Try it.
Hi,

If you dont mind i have a few of questions.

With regard to the above how do you clean the system? Do you just pull a vacuum and let the vac pump run for a couple of hours? What type of vac pump do you use and how deep a vac do you pull?

Do you have to change the drier core or does the vac down do the job?

With regard to the oil do you loose much during vac down ? If so how much oil does it hold and do you fill through the LP connection, with what oil, will SW68 surfice?

Is there a requirement to pressure test prior to recharge?

And finally at 100% charge what pressure do you expect on the LP (shutdown and running)?

Many Thanks Mark

Default Try Kwick fit

I bought a '95 850, the aircon didn't work but was cycling. Saw an advert from kwik fit stating cooler aircon or they don't charge. 1 hour and 45 pounds later it was sorted.
