I ended up having to run my old dear up to Brum, so I dropped her off and went to the NEC for the bikeshow instead.

Great pics, thanks for posting them.

What happened to all the other Amazons???

Paul 222S was on baby sitting duty so I'll let him off this year!

My trip there had more incidents than my trip to Gothenberg last year!

On the Wednesday my top hose was leaking but a clean up and new jubilee clip sorted that.

The ACE is about 60 miles from my home and my two grandsons wanted to go. The Saturday weather was atrocious, heavy rain and high winds with a touch of fog thrown in. A twenty minute "engine-off" wait on the M25 while an accident was cleared away.

Finally got the ACE and bagged the same spot I have been in to each year since it started. Had a great breakfast, but like Brian (Minnesota) I was disappointed at the lack of interaction. But it is difficult to recognise the Volvo Owners when none of us want to venture outside. I spoke to a few Volvo owners but also to several others who were there just for their breakfast!!

As I left the ACE the ignition warning light came on very faintly, and my first thought was that the continual use of headlights, fast speed wipers, and heater fan, had overcome the alternator and battery capacity. So I pressed on for home, using wipers only when necessary, no heater fan, sidelights only but the warning light steadily increased. After 120 miles, the Amazon finally stopped about 500 yards from home.

Wife was with me in about ten minutes - a jump start and I managed to do the final bit of the journey.

On checking this morning, I saw that when I had cleaned the battery terminal on Friday, I failed to connect the feed wire from the alternator.
So the whole journey was done on the battery capacity.

Can't really blame the car for my stupidity, so my Amazon retains its perfect 12 year record in getting me home.

next meeting we have table signs ! So much easier to join in rather than feeling you are "Crashing a private meet "

Did see a few others outside looking under the hood of the white stickered up T5? If the next meet is a better day it will be more fun . Items for sale easy to display , more car doors and bonnets etc open , a more "inviting " day !

Agreed, table signs or a banner, and we should ask Ace if we can maybe have a date earlier in the year where the weather is going to be a bit better.

The cars may be Swedish and love the cold, but that doesn't mean the owners do!
