Default 10mm spark plug

So wondering I tried a 10 mm spark plug remover from halfords advanced set
It fits the plug
So what does the 10mm stand for? As the spark plug 'bolt' looks like at least a 16mm

This is probably the size of the spark plug threads. 10mm being them M10 thread.

Is the NGK model number BKR6ETCU correct or has this been replaced with a another model since this thread was posted ? I can't seem to find that model.

A word of warning having just replaced my sparkplugs last week. I manhandled the coil wiring harness when I pulled out the #3 and #4 coils and in the process broke the 220uF capacitor that is hidden in the wiring harness which connects to the coils and the VVT solenoid. As a result I got the good old CEL and it took me quite a while to figure out exactly why. I'm surprise this doesn't happen more often. In my case the capacitor broke off right at the (-) end of the capacitor itself due to rust and no amount of soldering could get something holding onto it again.

After some painful searching I finally found the Volvo part # for the replacement capacitor: 3457025.

So, if you get a P0015 or related CEL after doing your sparkplugs this might be one thing to check.

Cheers

Just a thought while I was viewing the Volvo plugs on eBay - anyone aware of any fake parts bearing the Volvo name out there ?

Probably a coincidence but I bought a set of genuine branded plugs off ebay, did about 15k on them then swapped them as it wasn't running ad well as I thought it should, 3 came out fine but one went crunch, it came out but as soon as I removed it from the plug socket it fell into 2 halves, sheared across flush with the top of the hex, lucky it came out as God only knows how I'd have retrieved the bottom part otherwise.

Should be BKR6ETUC which are 3 ground electrode, or BKR6EKUB which are 2 ground electrode !
