Silver Ghost production ran from 1907 to 1926. It was replaced with the New Phantom, later known as Phantom 1. Very similar cars to look at as all the coach work was bespoke by the leading coach builders. The style didn't change much until the 1930's.

The 20hp was introduced after the first world war as an 'affordable' alternative to the Ghost. Again coachbuilt bodies so have similar style, but much smaller.
The Phantom range ran right through to the Phantom VI. Phantom IIII being only available to Royalty and Heads of State.

I remember the person (not the owner) who told me 1927 was a bit vague and said 1926/1927 so that would tie in then. Could even have been a late registration!

I did have a Dinky Toy of a Phantom IV - in Royal Blue no less. Never knew they were only for certain clientele though.

Interesting article on the history of the Phantom IV.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Phantom_IV

Time to hang up the anorak, me thinks.

No need to hang up the anorak, celebrate it😀

Oh, a Phantom VI - so common. Seriously, the last of the separate chassis cars. Conventional mechanics even to the point of having drum brakes and a brake servo first fitted to the Silver Ghost in 1907. The servo was a design licenced from Hispano Suiza.

Possibly the most famous Phantom VI are the ones in service in the Royal Mews and the ex John Lennon painted in a psychedelic colour scheme.

Mmmmmmm, I’d rather not, thank you 😀

Might not be too bad a base car for someone wanting the later interior, at least it’s not the ‘fat lip’ full rubber bumper one😀

Cheers
