I removed one from a V40 in the scrapyard and fitted it to mine, never had to remove the bumper on either of them!
Well I did try, but the way it fitted around the top of the exhaust, and the ends had a sort of flare, I had to lift it out on a funny angle to remove it....hope that makes sense?

No. One big long bar, with the removable ball end which fitted in the middle. Will post a pick.

New Brake Discs fitted as this was one of the failures on MOT.

Also greased slider pins, both lower slider pins were seized solid. Such a common x40 issue this! Lubed and put back together car rolls much better which will also mean better MPG woohoo.

Replaced both track rod ends aswell. Evil Rattle cured on right hand side yippee (Now just to cure the rattle on the left hand side.......)

Just need to do ball joint/wishbones now and thats the MOT failure sheet cleared

Personally, I wouldn't. 8k miles/1 year is nothing. I would just change the auxiliary belts a bit earlier when the cambelt is due for it's next change so they are all in sync.

Edit: Unless you have to remove the cambelt for the VVT issue? In which case yes I would. As it just feels wrong putting used belts back on.

Yes, the timing belt has to come off to replace the pulley, Volvon.

I suppose it was inevitable, but thought I would just see what the general consensus was first.
