Hi Jim

When I bought the car it came with 18" Pegasus replica's with 225/40/18 "should be 235/40/18" Chinese made Sunny tyres. I just did not like the style of the wheels on this particular car and found the ride to hard and I was worried about all these pot holes with an elastic band of a tyre just to protect the wheel and suspension.

I wanted a BBS Volvo nebula style wheel, as I had them as original 18" versions and think they look great, plus I did not want a wheel that looked after market or like someone would put on a corsa/fiesta. I came across a seller on ebay that have Nebula replicas, the plus point is that they are not proper split rims, so if I need to refurbish them it will not cost me £100-125 at a wheel specialist! I got them to weigh them for me against a few other 17" wheels I was thinking about and their was very little difference. Weight was an issue, I did not want them to be that heavy. The original BBS Nebulas were a very heavy wheel.

The tyres came 2nd in EVO's tyre test, they have very good reviews and were a very good price through www.camskill.co.uk The winning tyre was the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetrical which I bought for my old V70 T5 running the Nebulas, that tyre is truly amazing with fantastic turn in from the stiff side wall and brilliant grip, but they were noisy, wore very rapidly on the fronts and were no where near as good as the old Eagle F1 GSD3 in the wet, especially in standing water which tends to happen on our poor roads more and more. considering we get so much rain I decided to go with the Vredestein as they literally won every single wet test that EVO did and ran the Goodyear close enough in the dry.
