New Turbo Fitted now permanent limp mode - Page 7

Thanks Cheshired5 I think I'm going to take the turbo off again. I have a new actuator in my garage for it so maybe that is the way forward. A royal pain in the ass but maybe the only way to have a look at it properly.

Lol.

Yeah found the problem I think..... the actuator arm has started creaking on return to non open position. Wd40 has not made much difference so the new actuator I think is needed.

While my cooling system is bleeding off I thought a quick update on this one. I have worked the creek out of the actuator arm and it feels springy. The permanent limp mode is back again and I am struggling once again. The map actual on a drive is now going down only reaching a max of 17 psi. MAF is going to the 40's. I have taken the turbo solenoid off and cleaned it once again this time using cheshired5 video dismantling the thing and I must admit inside behind the rubber was really clean and free moving I didn't find anything unusual. Anyway that has gone back on and I have vac tested the system revealing no vacuum leaks at all. One thing I did notice is that I could get the actuator arm to move using the vac tester?
Any suggestions guys?

Before or after the closed solenoid?

Things moved along, I found a twist in the vac pipe going to the actuator. This has been replaced and the turbo seems to be working, but boost is very stuttery - it seems to be boosting in waves of power but no messages on the dash?

Sorry my bad, it was supposed to say I couldn't move the turbo actuator arm, I have managed to suss that one as the vac line to the turbo had become twisted and deformed. I have now sorted that issue as it now moves freely on vacuum pressure. It's just not holding boost it comes and goes through every gear. I've had torque on it it boosts to 7psi stutters then boosts again and goes up to 14 - 16psi on full acceleration.

It seems that there is still (some) obstruction in the vnt operation vacuum and/or mechanical related .
Try to rule it out step by step again from the ground up (a wrong assumption earlier on can wreak havoc)
vacuumbox itself airtight?

ps

Isnt the hose between the turbo and airfilter collapsing now and then on underpressure?
