Obviously 103 is the minimum, but 108, if available, gives that bit extra load capacity.

As mentioned before, thanks to all the great info and advice on here I have decided to go with the Verde All Seasons.
As I haven't come across any nice 19 inch rims will be sticking with my 18's. Was just wondering if anyone has any practical experiences of the Nokian weatherproofs yet. They seem to be getting some good press. Thanks. Mike

Whilst Auto Express can sometimes be a little questionable - their tyre tests are quite comprehensive - Nokian Weatherproofs do very well indeed. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accesso...ts-by-category

Yes, I saw that too & they did well.
My overall impression was that they performed the best in "winter" conditions which is exactly what you would expect from a Scandinavian tyre. Well worth considering, I reckon. I am still sticking to the Verde's for now. Mike

Wet and dry handling and braking are probably more important to me than out and out snow performance so good to see the Pirelli doing very well on that score. Still very impressed with them so far for an all round all season tyre, will find out next few months how good they are in colder weather I guess (although in sub tropical south east doesn't normally get too bad!)

Hi,
No, not yet. Tentatively ordered from my tyre man who says he can get them in a couple of days even in mid winter. So I thought I might get a bit more out of my Rossos for now but I am looking forward to having them. Thanks again for all your help & advice. Much appreciated. Mike

Sounds great m8.
My car had 3 rosso's and 1 indescriminate tyre fitted last year when I bought it hence the need for 4 new tyres. My point is I am familiar with the ride on the rosso's but the ride on the verdes is superb and on the 18's you really are in for a treat. Quiet, no roll on cornering, excellent tracking, excellent braking, no wander on frosty greasy roads (closest we get to snow and ice down here), and if you get caught in a downpour on a motorway you can bearly see the cars behind for the amount of water your tyres are clearing from beneath you.(I have mudflaps fitted as well on all 4 corners). Done the Scotland run from Devon just after I had them fitted last year so was able to have a little play off-road ( mud, grass and sand, no problems)and very impressed for an all season tyre. I would imagine from my experience that it would be almost impossible to aquaplane on these unless you were being very silly. Keep your tyres at 38-39psi and they should be fine. Dont forget your 4 wheel alignment that's important. Enjoy.

Forgot to say I would opt for the 107xl type as a little more robust in the side wall which is always helpful.
See www.camskill.co.uk for the various different range of this tyre.
