Generally its not a good idea to take anothers word and I do not google all my replies. People reply based on their own experience.

I had a house that was for sale that was partly furnished, along with a telly in it. The amount of letters sent by TV licensing was amazing. As the TV was not watched, (nobody lived there) all were ignored. The TV licence people visited on a regular basis (never met them though as was never there)It got to the point that 'someone' actually managed to obtain a photo of the telly, and thus a licence was needed. The fact there was a telly there meant a licence was needed. It must have cost TV licensing a fortune to follow up. They were relentless.Thats how it was then, so to me own a tv - need a licence, although seemingly not if its just to be used as a monitor.

Regards
Your meant to fill in an online form to tell TV Licencing that you don't need a TV Licence.

Exactly - it's the only way to stop the stream of increasingly maddening letters accusing you of criminality and threatening you with fines (which is what got me started on the massive derailing of this thread in the first place (sorry), because it struck me that the methods are rather strikingly similar to those of the parking cowboys).

Then after two years the letters start up all over again...

I pay tax on the energy I use when I switch on the misinformation box for maybe the hour or two a week that I bother my aging ass to watch it, that`ll do for me thanks.

So going by your logic you don't need a driving licence if you only use the car once a week for an hour either?

It's not a fine, it is a request to pay.

I get PCN's on an almost weekly basis but they get ignored.

Thumbs up

The above post is just about sums it up.
Just incase you missed my last post. The same advice applies
IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE
You can even ignore the home visit letters and the debt collection company letters.
The only time you must pay, is if they take you to court and you loose.
Which as you know from Moneysaving expert, does not happen.
These invoices, sent out by these private companies rely on the ill informed, who just pay.
If i was to send you an invoice for the advice contained in this post, for say £20 if paid in seven days, rising to £75 there after if not paid, you would just laugh and tell me to p*ss off.
That's how daft the whole private parking companies, rules and regulations on supermarket/retail parks are.

Not long ago, private clamping was made illegal, at the time just before this I think I posted it:

A good friend of mine was clamped by 2 Gorillas while he hopped out of his van to retrieve something from the car he was towing into a scrapyard, he went to drive off, but they threatened him with violence, and made him pay over £200 to get his van released, and if he didnt cough up within half an hour they were gonna tow his van away, he had no choice, he was on his own and he is only a small bloke, I tell you when he told me of this it made my blood boil and I tell you now it would have been a different story if I was there, anyway,

A few weeks later it happened to some other poor so on so, they clamped his recovery truck, he was also on his own (strange that) anyway this bloke cool as a cucumber asked them if he could get his mum or someone to run the money down so he could unclamp his lorry, to which the "Gorilla's" agreed to:

About 10/20 mins later a van full of his mates pulled up and battered the pair of Gorrillas and one was also stabbed at the scene, they were left for dead and in my eyes thats rough justice but if you play with fire you get burned, what goes round and all that malarky

Its also true that private ticketing firms are just con artists, dont fall for their bull, if its a Council or a Police ticket its a different story but on a private carpark they are non enforceable, I have had more than a few.

But Volvorocks there already IS chaos on an unprecedented scale, what would you call the current situation of folk being more concerned for the value of the pieces of paper carrying a queens head in their pocket than they are for the planet that supports all life?
The choices of ONE don`t affect the bigger picture beyond the effects of one.
I`m an individual ,not society, I`m not blatantly going about my life making it some kind of mission to break laws but I don`t respect the ones that I don`t agree with.
You know, we talk of society before we consider life and it`s wrong to do that because society is a SHAM in many respects, a pastiche created by those who profit from us, it`s the way they want us to see it.
I choose not to be played, I choose a different way, a way of being as much as is possible independant of societies skewed rules and regulations.
So, I`ll not be paying any kind of stealth taxes unless I am forced to by a court ruling and now I consider my point to be succinctly beaten out, let`s move on................................................ .

Seems to me that you're not really living independently of any rules and regulations so far as the TV licence is concerned. In reality you're electing to benefit from the existence of such rules and regulations, and dishonestly leaving other TV viewers to pick up your share of the tab. Just my opinion.

And a very honest opinion it is too, it`s accurate but there`s a twist, ANYONE can do the same!
Hence my term `sheeple`, you don`t have to belong to the flock, allow yourself to be `driven` in life, you can choose a different way to live and guess what, it`s not YET illegal to do so either.
